This itinerary is crafted to indulge you as you travel throughout New England. Visiting each of the states, you will awaken all of your five senses; sight, taste, touch, sound and smell.
Day 1 — Massachusetts
Start your week-long escape in Boston and indulge your sense of sight at one of the many art museums located here, including the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Shop and dine, as well as check out the deals at the nearby Outlets at Assembly Row. Next, head to Cape Cod and breathe in the salty fragrance of the Atlantic Ocean; spend the night at one of the many quaint B&Bs and inns. Visit the Cape Cod Winery for tastings of grape, plum, cranberry and blueberry wines.
Day 2 — New Hampshire
It’s now time to journey to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a region filled with adventure and spectacular scenery. Stay at a historic grand resort and reach the summit of Mt. Washington — the Northeast’s tallest peak — on the historic Cog Railway.
Take in the glorious views along the Kancamagus Scenic Highway along Rt. 112 as you travel to Fryeburg, Maine. You’ll pass through New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest with plenty of breathtaking views.
Day 3 — Maine
Next it’s off to delight your senses with the arts. In Portland, you can see an outdoor concert at Thompson’s Point during their summer concert series, head to the historic performing arts facility, Merrill Auditorium, or watch a play at Portland Stage. Then stroll through the Old Port for some world-class cuisine with everything from fine dining to pub fare and local brews.
Should time allow, there is nothing more indulgent than a cruise on a historic windjammer. Enjoy a sunset cruise through Casco Bay and the surrounding islands.
Day 4 — Connecticut
Next, head south for some beach time in Connecticut. The two miles of sandy beaches at Hammonasset Beach State Park is ideal for simply relaxing and enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean. In New Haven, home to Yale University, rest in world-class luxury in a downtown hotel and enjoy fine dining in the attractive city.
Day 5 — Rhode Island
Now it’s on to Providence, Rhode Island, for a final day of indulgence. Take a paddle-boat ride in Roger Williams Park and see the swans, stroll down Thayer Street near Brown University for some fun shopping and sightseeing. This city is home to Johnson & Wales College of Culinary Arts so the city is a foodie’s paradise — whether you crave fresh seafood or exotic world cuisine, you will leave sated.
Only a short drive away, spend your last night in a luxury inn or hotel with ocean views in Newport, Rhode Island. Take a walk on the famous Newport Cliff Walk for picturesque views of the ocean and some of the Newport Mansions.
